무력감(無力感)은 스스로 힘이 없음을 알았을 때 드는 허탈하고 맥 빠진 듯한 느낌을 뜻한다. 이러한 무력감(無力感)에 해당하는 영어 단어로는 “Inertia”라는 단어가 있다.
“Inertia”는 무력감, 타성, 관성(慣性)과 같은 뜻으로 쓰이는 단어이다. “Inert”는 형용사로 “기력이 없는, 비활성의”라는 뜻으로 쓰이는데 화학에서 비활성 기체를 “Inert Gas”라고 한다.
