“Decency”이라는 단어는 격식체로 쓰이며 명사로 쓰이는 단어이다. 이는 체면, 품위를 뜻하는데, 예절이라는 뜻으로 쓰이기도 한다. 예절이라고 쓰이는 경우에는 주로 복수로 쓰이면서 “The Decencies”와 같이 쓰인다.
