식세포(食細胞)는 혈액이나 조직 안을 떠돌아다니면서 세균이나 이물(異物), 조직의 분해물 따위를 포식하여 소화ㆍ분해하는 세포로 동물체의 자기방어에 중요한 역할을 하는 세포이다. 이를 영어로는 “Phagocyte”라고 부른다.
