바리톤은 흔히 음악 분야에서 쓰이는 용어로 남성의 테너와 베이스 사이의 음역이나 그 음역대의 가수를 뜻한다. 혹은 베이스보다 조금 높은 저음의 관악기를 뜻하기도 한다.
이는 영어에서도 그대로 쓰이는데, “Baritone”이라는 단어로 쓰인다.
